As we sit back to reflect on everything 2025 has brought to us at Bridge Humanitarian, the word that keeps coming to mind is resilience. This year hasn't exactly followed the blueprint we first anticipated, but in many ways, it has been one of our most foundational years yet. In the world of non-profit and humanitarian work, the path is rarely ever a straight line, and this year we learned how to navigate the changes with positive hearts and a clear focus on our mission, the families who need us most.

One of our biggest goals this year was finding the perfect home for our vision. We spent months meeting with five different county offices, working closely with Planning and Zoning departments to find the most feasible location for our first tiny home community. Through those conversations, we realized we needed to be as resilient as the families we serve. This led us to a new shift, where we are now actively looking for an already established single-family home on multiple acres, already zoned R10 or higher. This pivot will allow us to get a family into a safe home immediately while we continue the long-term development of our tiny home community on the surrounding land.

On the administrative side, we've been busy planting seeds. We applied for over 15 grants and Letters of Intent (LOI) this year. While our team is still waiting on receiving formal confirmations on whether these financial awards will be granted, the feedback we received was incredibly encouraging and has helped us sharpen our message. In the new year, we will be keeping our eyes wide open for private grants and partners who believe in our mission as much as we do.

We won't sugarcoat it, 2025 has brought its share of external challenges. With the current halt in refugee resettlement and the political and social landscape, it is more difficult than ever for families to resettle in the US. However, at Bridge Humanitarian, we haven't stopped for a second. Instead, we've shifted our energy toward supporting the families who are already here and navigating the local system. We have the luxury of sitting patiently and working hard during this time of uncertainty, knowing that the "waiting" period is actually a "preparing" period.

As we look toward 2026, our attitude remains positive. We are continuously adapting, learning, and we are more committed than ever to the families counting on us. However, we can't build these bridges alone. As we move into a new year, we want to invite you to stay in the fight with us. Whether you've followed our journey from day one or just joined us recently, your belief in this mission is what keeps us going.

Thank you for being part of our 2025 story. Let's make 2026 the year we open the first of many doors for refugee families in need.
